Orinoco River Basin Conservation
Reforesting 20,000+ hectares in the Orinoco River Basin in Colombia to sequester 214,925 tCO₂e annually while protecting 56 threatened species including jaguars and pumas.
The businesses we work with trust us to do things right.
That trust shapes how we operate, how we grow, and how we make sure
our impact is something we're proud of.
We have been certified Carbon Neutral® since 2022.
We became the first Certified B Corp in our industry in 2025.
Efficient operations powered entirely by renewable energy.
Responsible consumption with zero waste sent to landfill.
Advocating for sustainable business practices for our community.
Environmental improvement as a long game.
Inspired by COP26, we decided to accelerate our sustainability journey and become Carbon Neutral certified in 2022.
To do this, we worked with Carbon Neutral Britain, the UK's leading offsetting initiative, to measure our carbon footprint and get a better insight into our environmental impact.
Achieving and maintaining our carbon neutral certification meant offsetting measured emissions through the Carbon Neutral Britain Woodland Fund. This fund supports reforestation, deforestation prevention and woodland management projects.
All of these are certified to recognised international standards, like Verra's Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), the Gold Standard's Voluntary Emission Reductions (VER), and the United Nations' Certified Emission Reductions (CER).

In 2025, we became a Certified B Corporation, the only company in our industry to achieve this.
B Corp certification recognises companies that meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.
Certification formalises our commitment to doing responsible business, from how we support entrepreneurs to how we manage our environmental impact.

We use recycled materials wherever we can, alongside energy-efficient lighting and appliances throughout the space.

We reduce waste through robust recycling and waste-segregation facilities built into our daily operations.

We encourage an energy-conscious culture, including simple habits like switching off lights and appliances when not in use.
These principles guide how we operate and serve our customers.
We partner with registered waste carriers operating 'Zero to Landfill' policies, and in 2026 we removed
printed documents from our company formation packages, significantly cutting resource use.
We help founders embed sustainability into everyday decisions through practical advice,
internal training and responsible service options, alongside employee-led initiatives
and mentoring programmes.
These projects reduce emissions and deliver measurable social and environmental benefits.
Importantly for us, they also support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
We're continuing to ask questions, improve what we do, and support
others doing the same. Here's what we're working towards next:
Increase in our B Impact score by the time we recertify for B Corp in 2028.
Halving our total emissions by 2050, supported by a formal Carbon Reduction Plan.
Doubling the resources and partnerships that help startups to make more sustainable choices.
"At the heart of 1st Formations' strategy is a commitment to sustainability, ensuring that our growth aligns with the health of our planet and the well-being of future generations."
